Carl L. Custis Jr.

Carl L. Custis Jr., age 92, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Hospice of Dayton.

Born March 28, 1926, in New Vienna, he was the son of the late Carl and Edith (Lacy) Custis.

Carl is preceded by his wife of almost 64 years, Martha Jane Georges Custis, who passed in 2011.

A 1944 graduate of Wayne Township High School,Carl enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. He was a lifelong resident of Clinton County and retired, 25 years ago, from a lifetime of farming. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Carl loved many sports and was especially proud of the fact that all of his children had graduated from The Ohio State University, and all of his grandchildren have graduated from college - many with advanced degrees.

Carl is survived by his children: Linda (Dr. Chris) Allen, Rebecca (Dr. Mike) Williams, Tim (Brenda) Custis, Jane (Dr. John) Pole, Ted (Sue Scherz) Custis and Judy (Mike) Gallick. Also left to cherish his memory is a sister: Cheryl (John) Locke; brother, Jeffery (Jeanne) Custis; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four sisters in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 11am on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, where friends may call from 9am until the time of service. Burial to follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions would be welcomed to Hospice of Dayton.

Friends and family are welcome to The COVE in Sabina to join together for a luncheon at 1pm, following the interment.
