Brenda C. (Johnson) Rice

Brenda Carol Rice, age 72, of Sabina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2022, in hospice care at The Grand of Dublin.

Born in Columbus on February 16, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Carmen (Rockhold) Johnson.

Brenda worked as a nursing assistant at Mount Carmel Hospital for many years. After retirement she moved to Sabina, where she found great joy living on the family farm. Brenda enjoyed reading, crocheting, good home cooking, and trying new recipes; she was the maker of buckeyes for her family at Christmas. She was an avid lover of animals and took pride in nurturing her house plants. She collected owl figurines and wise quotes. Among her favorites were, "Faith is seeing Light with your heart when all your eyes see is darkness," and "There are blessings every day. Find them...Create them...Treasure them..." Brenda was a member of the Sabina United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted brother Kenny and his wife Marianne Johnson of Delaware, Ohio; niece Malia Johnson Homer and her children, Alexander, Derian and Martina; nephew Christopher Johnson and his son, Christopher 'CJ' Johnson. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Haley Jane.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her son, Adam Rice, sister in-law Marti Wright Johnson, and her beloved dog, Penny.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Sabina United Methodist Church, or Kindred Hospice.

Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina, on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 11am-2pm, immediately followed by a funeral service.  Burial will follow at Sabina Cemetery.
