Billy L. Flint, 86, of New Vienna, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on May 9, 2018.
He was born July 22, 1931, in Melvin, OH, the son of Harvie Edward Flint and Elizabeth Josephine Gray Flint. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Charles and Jennie Moshauer Murphy, his sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Murphy, sister and brother-in- law Joan and Richard Woods and infant grandson Patrick Reed Flint.
Bill was a member of the New Vienna Church of Christ, a 32nd Degree Mason member of the Dalton Lodge 578 and a member of the Valley of Cincinnati Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Murphy Flint, whom he married June 11, 1953. Also surviving are children: Terri (Doug) Barton of Sabina, Chuck (Patti) Flint of Sabina, Cindy (Jack) Anderson of New Vienna and Alison (Chad) Davis of Wilmington; grandchildren: Trisha (Josh) Hughes of Lexington, OH Robb (Emily) Barton of Sabina, Dawn Elzey of Sabina, Brad (Dee) Flint of Leesburg, Nick (Hannah) Anderson of New Vienna, Wesley (Sarah) Anderson of Sabina, Alex Anderson and John Carney of Owensville, Andrew Davis and Lauren Davis of Wilmington; and thirteen great grandchildren that brought him much joy.
Bill retired, after 30 years, from serving as the New Vienna Postmaster. He was an active 4-H adviser for 23 years and was involved with or watching 4-H livestock shows at the Clinton County Fair for more than 50 years. He was an avid golfer and loved all things sports related especially local sporting events. Bill will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at the New Vienna Church of Christ, 148 West St., New Vienna, on Monday, May 14, 2018 beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be at the New Antioch Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday, May 13, 2018, from 4:30-7:30 pm followed by Masonic and Scottish Rite services.
The family asks anyone wishing to make donations to consider: Community Care Hospice, East Clinton Athletic Boosters and the Clinton County 4-H Committee. The 4-H Committee asks that his name be noted with the donation.
