Betty R. Thompson, age 94, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016.
Born in New Vienna on December 19, 1921, the daughter of Fred D. and Addie ‘Bobbitt’ Rulon.
Betty was a New Vienna High School graduate and retired from the New Vienna National Bank and Trust, as a teller. She was a member and past director of the New Vienna Senior Citizens, a member at the New Vienna Church of Christ, active member of the Eastern Star and the New Vienna Women’s and Mother’s Club, volunteered at Clinton Memorial Hospital, and enjoyed playing bridge in multiple Bridge Clubs.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Martin Thompson.
She is survived by her children, Judy (Jay) Laycock of Sabina, and Robert (Lynn) Thompson of Springboro. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Gregory Laycock, Dennis (Rachel) Laycock, and Jeffrey (Sabrina) Laycock, Jennifer Thompson and Emily Thompson; along with great-grandchildren: Elnora, Emmitt, and Hayden. Betty is also survived by a brother in-law, Damon Hughes and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 10-12Noon, when a funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at New Vienna IOOF Cemetery.
