Barbara Eileen Lamme Thompson, 81, of Wilmington, passed on Thursday, February 11 at Continental Manor in Blanchester, where she had been living for the last nine years.
Barbara was born on March 18, 1934 in Bellbrook, the daughter of Clarence Thomas and Lillian Hester (Harness) Lamme. She graduated from Bellbrook High School in 1952 and married Vernon Eugene Thompson on April 21, 1956.
Barbara worked caring for her family and home, she loved to garden, cook, make pies, and care for any animal, stray or wild. Together with her husband, she enjoyed square dancing, Bluegrass concerts, and going out to the Elks Lodge.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Janelle) Thompson and Matthew Thompson and her sisters, Nancy (Bill) Green and Lorena Smith.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Raymond (Ginny) Lamme, Betty (Ennis) Stillwell, and brother in-law, Gary Smith.
The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 17, at Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina. Burial to follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4- 6 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, Vitas Hospice, Wilmington VFW or Honor Flight of Dayton.
