Karen Sue (Elzey) Kimmey

February 5, 1949 — May 10, 2024

Karen Elzey Kimmey, age 75, of Washington Court House, passed away on Friday May 10, 2024, at Adena-Fayette Hospital.

Born February 5, 1949, in Fayette County, she was the daughter of Frank and Bernice Howe Elzey.

Karen was a 1967 graduate of East Clinton High School.  She had worked with Miami Trace Schools for 30 years before retiring, and then went on to work at Home Depot for 8 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Kimmey in 2010; her son, Steve Kimmey in 1998; her stepson, Bobby Kimmey 2023; along with several brothers and sisters.

Karen is survived by her special companion, Marson Davey of Washington Court House.  Also left to cherish her memory is a son, Frank E. (Gracie) Riley of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter in law, Brandy Kimmey of Leesburg; grandchildren: Dereck and Dustin (Natasha) Kimmey both of Leesburg; stepson, Rick (Pam) Kimmey; step granddaughters: Amy Putney & Cindy Everhart; step grandsons: Robby & Rocky Kimmey; along with sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Karen is also survived by siblings: Jane Ann Massie of Washington Court House, Kate (Jim) Kovach of Caribou, Maine, Linda (Fondo) Finley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jim Wightman of Cincinnati; half-brother, Bobby (Mindy) Carpenter of Port Charlotte, Florida; and sveral nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held at Sabina Cemetery on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 1pm.
